Don't Remove the Groove

Well you can put the groove in a frying pan'
You can bury it under the sand
You can fly it around on the end of a line
You can feed it chicken soup til it’s feeling fine

You can bring the groove to your grandma’s house
You can pet the groove like a little mouse
You can move it to the groove anyway you want
But don’t remove the groove!

You can sail the groove around on the deep blue sea
You can soothe the groove with a cup of tea
You can kick the groove like a soccer ball
You can hang it up on your bedroom wall

You can read about the groove in a science book
You can find it in a microscope if you look
But whatever you do, keep it in your sight
And don’t remove the groove!

You can snuggle in the groove like a cozy bed
You can wear that crazy groove like a hat upon your head
You can talk about the groove til you’re blue in the face
You can smear the groove like fingerpaint all over the place

You can share the groove with people you don’t even know
You can let it loose in the air and watch it blow
You can follow the groove til you fall down tired
 But don’t remove the groove.
